Christmas time.....

Birthday plus Christmas makes a pretty busy time of the year....above is my daughter Linda who just turned 40....she is holding her little neice Zola......We surprised Linda with a party, which she mentioned she didn't want....but was surprised and happy to see her friends from work and classmates Camille and Stacey.....
Little Sam is in his own world....he never seemed to hear us say, Sammy don't pick your nose.... LOL....but he got fired up as the days went on....why is it little boys love picking their nose or talking potty talk, like poopy, butte,,,,,,for the birthday party was on Sat. (before Christmas) and we celebrated Christmas on that Sunday.....
My granddaughter Megan above with her mom (my daughter) Lori....I thanks God they are with us, for on their way to Toledo they hit black ice and totaled their car....Lori was suppose to arrive early on Sat for she had all the food....but that was tossed...presents were saved, and thank God Meggie or Luke wasn't in the car.....they (Craig & Lori) were on their way to pick up Meg when this happened....they arrived after the surprise....
Then on Christmas Eve I went over to Linda's house....she had an open house, with some friends and family....I didn't stay real long, because I was beginning to get a cold....then on Christmas day I went ate, and went home, and have been in my jammies since Christmas....it's cold and a bit snowy....I say a bit, because when I watch the news and see all the snow that is surrounding us, I say Thank You God.....but winter has just begun, and you never know what we will get next...Mother Nature can fool us.....

Hope everyone has had a wonderful, healthy Christmas....it's all about family and friends....

Oh Yes, I do believe in Sanata....

OH YES, I DO BELIEVE IN SANTA....
When I was just a little girl
I'd wish with all my might...
That I might hear those jingle bells
Ringing in the night...
A stomping and a HO HO HO
I'd know that he was real...
Oh yes, I do believe I heard
One of the reindeer squeal...
***
The room in which I spent the night
Was cold and filled with apples...
While hiding under the blankets so warm
I'd sneak a bite, well... just to sample...
I finally fell a sleep that night
With dreams of what I'd find...
A bride doll, perhaps with brown hair
She was a beautiful sight...
***
Christmas morning I'd wake up at dawn
And creep on down the stairs...
The tree was lit with colored lights
And tinsel everywhere...
I'd hear a tinkling sound from bells
Bells hanging on the tree...
Oh I do believe in Santa Claus
For my bride doll was waiting for me...

Christmas memories are so special....this really is the way I remember my Christmas's as a little girl....My dad made it all believable....from stomping on the porch while ringing bells, and he even made a huge wooden Santa display for our front yard, he added a motor and the arm waved at every one with music in the air....Christmas was simple back them...OK maybe not for my mom and dad...LOL...it seemed so sparkley....maybe that's why I love Vegas so much it's sparkley... The apples were really stored in our spare bedroom which was where I went to wait for Santa....and those apples smelled, and tasted so good..... I thought I'd share my Christmas poem I wrote, and in 25 days it will be Christmas again....and I wish I was that little girl back in the cold spare room with all the apples, waiting for my friend Santa Claus....

The doll I am holding in the picture is the one I rec'd and it has my hair on it..when I got my hair cut, mom had it put on a bride doll.....I still have the bride doll, and my hair is a couple of shades lighter than it is now...a bit of auburn in it....and yes it was natural curley...
