Fear is all in "The Look"

The dog on the left is Coco Chennel who is tiny but mighty and belongs to my daughter Lori...I am dog sitting....the dog on the right is Buddy who is large, but very fearful of Coco....now Buddy is my dog....and will need therapy when Coco goes home....LOL...Buddy will not walk by Coco...I'm surprised I got them this close for the picture....this made me think about fear is all about the look, or the approach of a person....not really the size... Coco looks in charge...she walks up real fast and shows no fear of the big dog...when my kid were growing up, my husband never yell at the kids, it was "the look"....I was the yeller....which I could hear them giggle under their breath....and made me madder....but not with dad....he never had to touch those kids, except for hugs...the fearful word they never wanted to hear was, "I'll be up to check your room"...thats when they would fly....you didn't want dad to check your room and it was a mess....he would raise his voice a bit at then....but I could be telling them all week "take those clothes on the steps up"...."take those clothes on the steps up"...why is it that "the look" could be so fearful, when they really don't know what would happen if they didn't do what he ask....but it worked....and now I'm sure they would love to see that look again....

Interesting Judy, loved the read, the dogs are lovely. Have a grand time dog sitting.

I watch so much Dog Whisperer...I'm sure he had some sort of explanation for everything dog-related!

Cute story about the dogs. Of my two Yorkies the male thinks he is the alpha dog but every so often the little female puts him in his place. I have to laugh when it happens because he rolls over on his back and acts like he is humoring her. LOL.
In my family, mom did the yelling and telling us what for. I think dad really didn't know how to handle his three girls so just sort of stayed out of the way.
