Fat Tuesday....

Fat Tuesday...I never heard of Fat Tuesday or Ponzki's when I was growing up... or even when raising my kids....but I certainly know about them now....on monday after Curves we went to Tim Hortons and had our usual coffee...but this time I got a ponzki....a strawberry glazed ponzki...oh my God was it good....went down pretty fast, and our friend Carol hadn't arrived yet....so we decided to go get another ponzki to eat with Carol....then when I get home I heard that they run from 420 to 500 calories...and I ate two....and it wasn't even fat tuesday yet....so today, I kept thinking about them two ponski's I ate, and wished I had them now...on fat tuesday...but I was waiting for my daughter to drop off Coco the little poodle I'm watching for a week...when they left it was about 11:30....so I got in my car and it went straight to Tim Hortons...WHAT! they were all gone....not one ponzski was left...now I never really like ponzki's...i didn't like all that powdered sugar, (but I LOVE the GLAZED )...and when I did have one it was from either meijers or krogers...they just aren't the same....so head held down, I walked to my car and thought....heck, I'm not going to waste Fat Tuesday....so I stopped and picked up a PIZZA.....large....LOL

The recipe I found on the net call's for 12 egg yolks and 1 cup whipping cream among other ingredients. No wonder the calories. I never had one but it does sound yummy!IS it something like a cream puff?

M-Mama....my friend told me that they had around 800 calories...each...so that made me feel better...LOL...I usually don't even like them, but I don't know, maybe it was because most are covered with powered sugar and that is so messy, but the one I had was big, plup filled with strawberry jelly and covered all over with glazed frosting...which means I probably should add another 100 cal to that 800...yikes, but it was goooooodddd.
