I rmemeber when gang meant, gee a whole bunch of people....now if you said you had a gang over the police would be checking you out (when they had time)...we always had a gang over on the 4th of July....well really all summer long....and my dad would cook on the home made grill that he personally made...I sure do miss those times....
The whole family would go out on the little 14ft wooden Lyman boat, we would all take turns...all but me, I was always perched on the front...not when we went fast though...with the 25 hp mercury engine...woooooo....
Mom with her hair in an updo, and next to her my cousin Rita, and me...with my arm around her...isn't that cute..We would eat drink and be merry....and dad would aways pick up a few firecrackers....compared to the sound now they were just a little pop and of course sparklers...

I dread tonight and tomorrow night....they say that they are against the law....yeah right...our city could get rich if they would go around and arrrest the really loud ones....OH sorry, now I sound like a little old lady....shoot I am.....well have a safe 4th...and don't drink and drive....

What wonderful memories you have of your 4th's. I remember the little firecrackers too. Dad got me and my two sisters some called Lady Fengers, then as wegot older there were some larger ones. I was scared of them.
We usually had a picnic at the beach with the aunties, uncles and cousins and of course grandma too. SOmetimes I wish we could go back to those wonderful times. I don't think I enjoyed them enough!

Elvis is doing good now although his arthritis gives him trouble. Poor old thing. I hate that he is getting old.
